There are so many paths of feeding the soul and improving our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. We can exercise or garden or meditate or laugh with a friend. All of these are healing to our bodies and our psyche in one form or another, but there are few activities that heal and transform the physical body as completely and purely as volunteering of our time, physical strength, energy, and spirit. By being active in your volunteering, your physical strength and health are being supported. The connection with other human beings when aligning for a good cause heals and transforms your emotional health. And, to make it the perfect trifecta, volunteering creates high frequency vibrations within you that radiate out to the Universe, creating a deeper connection with the world around us and with your own personal spirituality. As some added bonuses, this perfect trifecta:

We are approaching a season that is filled with opportunities to donate/volunteer through activities that support some incredible charities and organizations. As the weather warms, there are more 5K and marathon flyers popping up all over the place. Or, maybe you are more drawn to and inclined to biking or bowling or helping to construct homes and schools. Whatever pulls you in and creates that interest, get out there. Sign up and experience the actual difference in how you feel during and after participating in your cause. I have become passionate about donating and volunteering. There has been nothing quite like the feeling I get when I know how I can be positively impacting another’s world. This year, my passion and focus is directed towards “Girls On The Run (GOTR)”-the Lancaster, PA division of the organization. This group has touched my heart and I felt an immediate pull towards them since the first time I ever heard of the organization. Research has shown that preteen girls, in particular, have better development of self-esteem, healthy lifestyles, and a higher retention of information while being physically active. Over a period of 10-12 weeks, groups of girls are coached and taught about self-respect, better esteem, living healthy, and accepting their own uniqueness by volunteer team coaches…all while practicing running for a final 5K event to celebrate their hard work.
